If you ask a Berry Hill staff member whether they believe in ghosts, their answer is likely to be, “I didn’t until I started working here.” More than one spirit is believed to occupy the former plantation: Mrs. Bruce, the wife of an owner, said to be looking for her children and a mischievous young spirit who likes to goose people working alone at night are just two of the spectral residents.
If you visit Berry Hill, be sure to ask to see the recent picture of the ghost of Mrs. Bruce in a guest’s room. It’s definitely not the usual “flash of light that could be a lens flare” shot…
